2026 Ford Escape

Some 2020-2026 Escape and 2021-2026 Corsair PHEV vehicles may require inspection of the high voltage battery due to rust, scratches, curb strikes, road debris, or other minor damage. Section 414-03A of the Workshop Manual (WSM) has recently been updated to improve diagnostics for such damage and provides a list of low-level serviceable components for instances where replacement of the high voltage battery assembly is not warranted. Refer to WSM, Section 414-03A High Voltage Battery, Mounting and Cables > Diagnosis and Testing > High Voltage Battery Minor Damage Inspection. The Ford New Vehicle Limited Warranty covers manufacturing defects resulting from a defect in factory supplied materials or workmanship. Please refer to the Warranty section WHAT IS NOT COVERED, which includes curb strikes and accidents.

This article supersedes TSB 25-2249 to update the Service Procedure. Some of the vehicles listed in the Model statement above may exhibit a "Pre-Collision Assist Not Available" message in the IPC and at least one of the following conditions:  Various driver assistance feature warning messages in the instrument panel cluster (IPC): - "Blind Spot System Fault" - "Cross-Traffic System Fault" - "Front Camera Fault - Service Required"  Various data or lost communication diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) stored in various modules  Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) scan tool cannot establish connectivity with the image processing module A (IPMA) during a self-test. This may be due to the software installed in the IPMA. *** MODEL SECTION ****  2023-2026 Escape equipped with minor feature code: DBCAB or DBCAA  2023-2026 Corsair equipped with minor feature code: DBCBC

Some 2021-2026 Escape/Corsair vehicles equipped with a roof opening panel may exhibit a sunshield with localized looseness/sagging or binding/inoperative. This may be due to a broken or missing sunshield fabric retainer/clip. A revised sunshield clip (5452118) is available to address this condition. It is not necessary to replace the entire sunshield assembly if the clip(s) are broken or missing. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-17 Roof Opening Panel for inspection and replacement of the roof opening panel shield clip.
