⚑ QUICK DIY TIPS FOR THE 2022 FORD RANGER
Torque your drain plug to 30 Nm (22 ft-lbs) to avoid leaks or stripped threads. Using the OEM filter (Motorcraft FL-500-S) is recommended for warranty compliance. Always use 0W-20 Full Synthetic as specified by Ford — using the wrong viscosity can void your powertrain warranty. Check the maintenance schedule below for your next service interval. Some 2019-2022 Ranger vehicles may experience an uneven and/or excessive gap existing between the instrument panel (IP) topper and the center tray/upfitter switch assembly. This may be due to a lack of rigidity in the IP topper not allowing the tray/upfitter switch assembly to latch properly. The following foam block service kits should be used to correct this condition. For vehicles equipped with an IP tray, order service part # KB3Z-2104338-AG, which includes a new IP tray and foam blocks. For vehicles equipped with the upfitter switch assembly, order service part # KB3Z-2104338-A, which only includes the foam blocks. If a new upfitter switch assembly is required, this must be ordered separately. Follow the installation instructions included with each kit to install the foam blocks and repair the vehicle.

Some 2017-2022 Ford/Lincoln customers may experience a notification in the FordPassÃÂÃÂÃÂî/LincolnWayÃÂÃÂÃÂî app indicating Vehicle Has Entered Deep Sleep Mode. This occurs when the vehicle has not been started for 14 consecutive days, battery voltage is at/below 9.5 volts or the body control module (BCM) 12 volt battery state of charge (SOC) drops below 50%. A warning may also set if the telematic control unit (TCU) has received an over the air update. The TCU powers down all communication when in this mode and app features are disabled. Manually start the vehicle to wake if from mode. More information is located in the app under: Account > Help > search 'Deep Sleep' in the entry box. If the condition remains, check the BCM 12v SOC. If the SOC does not change after charging the battery or after BMS reset is performed, continue with normal battery and/or BMS sensor diagnostics.
SSM 51051 ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING 2022-08-24
Some 2019-2022 Ranger vehicles (equipped without an engine appearance cover) may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304 and/or P0316 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to water build up in the spark plug well(s) which can lead to signs of corrosion on ignition system components. To prevent reoccurrence, an engine appearance cover must be installed on the vehicle. Currently, the engine cover (SPN: L1MZ-6A949-A) is not available to order and a new engine cover kit is being released. Repair the vehicle by replacing suspect ignition system components and schedule an appointment with the customer to have an engine cover installed when the engine cover kit becomes available in November 2022.
