⚑ QUICK DIY TIPS FOR THE 2017 NISSAN ALTIMA
Torque your drain plug to 34 Nm (25 ft-lbs) to avoid leaks or stripped threads. Using the OEM filter (Nissan 15208-65F0E) is recommended for warranty compliance. Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2015-2017 Altima vehicles. The rear door latch/lock cable on the vehicles may have been improperly routed. As a result, lowering a rear window may inadvertently cause that door to unlatch and open.

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2015-2017 Altima vehicles, previously remedied under recall number 17V-040. The door latch-lock cable may not have been routed properly in the rear door when the remedy was applied. As a result, the cable may interfere with the window regulator causing the rear passenger door to unlatch and inadvertently open without warning when the window is lowered.

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2013-2018 Nissan Altima vehicles. If the primary hood latch is inadvertently released, there is an increased likelihood that the secondary hood latch may corrode over time.

Some of these vehicles were originally placed on hold on October 14, 2016 and subsequently released for sale on October 21, 2016. Nissan is continuing to study the issue and expects to have further direction by the end of November 2016. The Service Comm I.D. has been changed to help clarify which vehicles should be held until further notice. ***** What Dealers Should Do ***** 1. Verify if vehicles currently in dealer inventory are affected by this QA Hold using Service Comm I.D. PC502 Note: Dealers should continue to check new arriving inventory for QA Hold applicability. 2. VOLUNTARY EMISSIONS SERVICE CAMPAIGN 2016-2017 ALTIMA ENGINE CONTROL MODULE REPROGRAM This bulletin applies only to vehicles equipped with 4-cylinder engines. INTRODUCTION Nissan is conducting a Voluntary Emissions Service Campaign on certain specific model year 2016 - 2017 Altima vehicles to reprogram the Engine Control Module (ECM). The reprogram will affect the operation of the grille shutters and will reduce under hood temperatures which, if not reprogrammed, could lead to a false Malfunction Indicator Lamp in some circumstances. The ECM will be reprogrammed at no charge to customers for parts or labor. IDENTIFICATION NUMBER Nissan has assigned identification number PC514 to this campaign. This number must appear on all communication and documentation of any nature dealing with this campaign. DEALER RESPONSIBILITY It is the dealer?' responsibility to check Service Comm for the campaign status on each vehicle falling within the range of this voluntary safety recall which for any reason enters the service department. This includes vehicles purchased from private parties or presented by transient (tourist) owners and vehicles in a dealer?s inventory. Federal law requires that new vehicles in dealer inventory which are the subject of a safety recall must be corrected prior to sale. Failure to do so can result in civil penalties by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. While federal law applies only to new vehicles, Nissan strongly encourages dealers to correct any used vehicles in their inventory before they are retailed.
