Wheel chocks
The cheapest safety item in the garage, and the one people skip.

Where to buy
02
Why you need it
- A car on ramps or a jack can roll. Chocks behind the wheels still on the ground stop it.
- Parking brakes only hold the rear wheels on most cars; lift the rear and the brake does nothing.
- They double as stops for trailers, lawn equipment and loading ramps.
03
What to look for
- Rubber over plastic: it grips concrete and does not crack in the cold.
- A size that matches your tires. A compact-car chock is useless behind a 33-inch truck tire.
- Buy a pair and use both, on the same axle, on both sides.
